¾ Kg potatoes (boil, peeled and mashed)
4 bread slices (Soaked in water and mashed)
250 gm Green peas lightly boiled and mashed.
2 small onions nicely chopped
1” ginger piece nicely chopped
½ tea spoon garam masala
½ tea spoon coriander-cumin powder
1 tea spoon chat masala
50 gms coriander leaves nicely chopped
3-4 green chillies nicely chopped
½ tea spoon red chilli
Juice of one lemon
½ cup oil
Salt to taste
Method
Mix mashed potatoes ,bread slices , salt and half of the coriander powder and green chillies together and knead them well and keep aside.
Heat 01 table spoon oil in a pan.
Add ginger in oil and stir.
Add chopped onion to it and stir till it golden became golden.
Add mashed peas to it and stir it for 3-4 minutes.
Now add green chilli, garam masala, coriander powder chat masala, red chilli powder and salt chopped coriander leaves to it and stir it and mix well.
Let the mixture cool a little.
Now add lemon juice and mix well.
Now make small balls of this pea mixture.
Make equal number of balls (lemon size) of potato bread mixture.
Make depression (hole) in a potato balls and fill small pea balls into in and bind well
Now press each ball with the help of palm softy to make them round flat cutlet shape.
Heat oil in a non stick pan and shallow fry all tickies from both sides.
Can be served hot as it is with tomato ketchup or along with green chutney, spicy curd, tamarind chutney, chole,
Note -Boiled and mashed Bengal gram can also be used in place of green peas.
